A message from Mr Pardini

Dear Parents,

It has been so great to feel the (slightly) warmer days of spring this week. A reminder to all families about hats. Our uniform requirements for this term are for all students to wear a hat during recess and lunch time. Please ensure your child has a hat as the weather and UV index increases in the coming weeks.

SuperKids SuperHeroes

Our school has been so blessed to be a part of the SuperKids SuperHeroes ride each year. Last Friday saw the riders arrive on our oval for the final time. It was a very emotional return for everyone and I would like to thank our entire school community for supporting this event over the past 6 years. I too was overcome with emotion on the day, and totally forgot to present the proceeds from the 'Dress in Green' day. It is with much pleasure that our school has donated a total of $500 to the Kids Cancer Project. We have contacted Simon and Kim Kane to inform them of this fantastic amount.

Confirmation

Confirmation Mass will take place Sunday 30 October at 5.00pm. It would be lovely to see as many of our school families at this Mass to support the Year 6 students who are celebrating this Sacrament. Following Mass, a light supper will be held in the hall where the students will be presented with their Confirmation certificate.

Athletics

It's carnival season! A reminder next week we are hosting both the 'Jumps and Throwing' carnival on Wednesday 2 November as well as the Athletics carnival on Friday 4 November. We look forward to you coming along for a day of fun and athletics. Our canteen manager Kristan has organised a sausage sizzle on this day. To make things easier for everyone there is no need to preorder lunch for either yourself or your children. The wonderful P&F (supported by Year 1 parents) will be providing morning tea to keep up going all day!

2023 Enrolments

Spaces are filling quickly for our early years classes for 2023. If you have not yet enroled your child in either of our Three-Year Old (Little Sprouts Program) or Kindergarten for next year, please contact the office. This is the time of year where we plan budgets according to our class sizes, so it is essential we know confirmed numbers before the end of the year. Thank you.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Carlo Pardini

PP to Y2 Liturgy

Yesterday's PP-Year 2 Liturgy was a beautiful celebration in the church. The theme of 'Belonging' was reinforced by the readings, prayers and the paper chain we were all invited to create. Thank you Miss Aird and staff for organising this very pertinent prayer for us. The support by our families at this liturgy made it all the more special!

Y1 Excursion

The excitement in Year 1 was building all week (if not longer!!) for their excursion to the Manjimup Timber Park today. They travelled from school by bus to Manjimup where they had a so much fun playing at the park and enjoying a shared morning tea. Thank you to Mrs Barber, Mrs Lids and Mrs Humby for taking the Year 1's for a day out they will most definitely remember!

Bridgetown Blues "Camping"

If this is your first year as a family at St Brigid's you might not be familiar with the tranformation that takes place at school over the Blues Weekend. From 1.30pm on the Friday afternoon 11 November, our school oval becomes a camping 'village' to over 130 campers. We set up portable toilets and showers and the undercover area of the school is is an 'alfresco' breakfast dining area where the campers enjoy a full cooked and continental breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings. Thank you to everyone who has so far volunteered to help out over the weekend, it's been a really encouraging response from the parent body. We still require a few more helpers for check-in Friday afternoon 3.30-5.30, Sunday breakfast 8.00-10.00am.
