Thursday 5 June 2025 (Week 6)
A note from Mr Pardini
Dear Families,
Congratulations Isla - It was wonderful to celebrate the next recipient of Xavier the Bear at our MJR assembly this morning. I am sure everyone will agree, Isla Watts was the perfect candidate to receive our highest MJR honour. Isla has been a true ‘WESTie’ both in and outside of the classroom and an encouraging friend, looking out for everyone in the school, no matter what year you are in. Thank you for greeting everyone with a lovely smile each day Isla!
First Reconciliation - Congratulations to Evelyn, Kennedy, Gabby, Emilia and Leo who celebrated their next sacrament in their faith journey yesterday. Following the Year 3/4 Mass, these children celebrated their First Reconciliation. Following Mass, the Year 3 class joined together in the library to celebrate with a cupcake and applause as these students received their certificates.
First Holy Communion - On Sunday 22 June at 9.00am, we look forward to celebrating the First Holy Communion of Mia, Henri and Leo. At this Mass, these children will receive communion for the first time. We look forward to sharing this event with as many of our school community as possible. Please join us for Mass at 9.00am, and then following in the hall, we will continue to celebrate with a morning tea.
Inter-school Cross Country - Tomorrow, the St Brigid's Cross Country team will head to Manjimup to compete in the annual Inter-school Cross Country hosted by East Manjimup Primary School. We wish our team all the best for this exciting day.
Free Dress PBS Reward - Congratulations to Quinn (Red) and Mercy (Yellow) who have reached the next instalment of our whole school token reward system. On Monday we invite both these factions to come to school in free dress.
Newsletter frequency - We have made the decision to publicise our St Brigid's newsletter fortnightly (even weeks). Sometimes we may create a one-off newsletter (if there is something extraordinary to publish), however from this point on, we will publish a newsletter fortnightly. We are looking to increase our social media presence on our school Facebook page.
Year 6 Kearnan Orientation Day - As has occurred in the past, all Year 6 children will attend the first Transition Day at Kearnan College this term on Wednesday 11 June. The class will travel to Manjimup via the bus services. Parents, more information will come regarding how you sign up for this. Even if your child is not attending Kearnan College in 2026, this day is a nice way to try some high school options such as woodwork and cooking.
Have a wonderful remainder to your week!
