A note from Mr Pardini

Dear Families,

Year 6 Camp - Thank you Mrs Barber for coordinating an awesome year 6 camp in Perth. We could not have fit more into the days and the weather was sensational to allow us to do everything! Highlights included a tour of Optus Oval, rock climbing and of course...ice skating! A big thanks to Mrs Miller and Mrs Evans who took the time to accompany the class for camp - your support was very much appreciated.

ANZAC - This week, our year 6 students lead a beautiful ANZAC service for the school in the undercover area (since they were away last week on camp!). The school was joined by our special guests, Mel Wiles, Mr Tim Linz and Mr Tim Streeter. Thank you for leading this service for us - Lest We Forget!

Mother's Day brekkie - Thank you for coming along as a lead into Mother's Day and for celebrating this morning with us. A huge note of thanks to the staff for arriving at school early and cooking up a storm! The P&F did a wonderful job in organising a sensational raffle these amazing prizes. Congratulations to our winners:

  • 1st - Natasha Viles (Pullman Bunker Bay Resort accommodation package)
  • 2nd - Morgan Mills (Mother's Day-Out package)
  • 3rd - Hayley Cook (Taste of Bridgetown package)
  • 4th - Leisa Hollemans (Hillview Garden package)
  • Door Prize - Amy Richardson (Pharmacy 777 hamper)

Year 2 Assembly - Please join us next week (Friday 16 May) for the Year 2 Assembly at 8.45am on the basketball court (weather permitting!).

Walk to School Day - Will you walk to school next Friday 16 May? If you are interested in joining in the fun for this national day to promote healthy activity, Mrs Beesley will meet students/ staff/ parents at the skate park at 8:10am and walk them to school. Any students who participate get a temporary tattoo.

Kearnan College visit - On Friday 23 May, we look forward to a visit from Kearnan College staff, who will talk with our Year 5/6 students by way of an introduction. As we have done in the past, we encourage any parents (of Year 5/6 students) to attend so you may hear all about what Kearnan College has to offer for your child in the future. You may also like the opportunity to ask some questions. Please join us for this session on Friday 23 May at 9.00am in the school library.

Farewell Mrs Barber - Good luck Mrs Louise Barber who as of next week, commences her new role as Acting Principal of St Joseph's Pemberton. We wish Louise every blessing for her new role, and we look forward to seeing her when she returns. Officially, we welcomed Mrs Jodie Lapinski this week as our replacement year 6 teacher. May you enjoy the start of this term Jodie!

I wish all our Mums a happy Mother's Day on Sunday...may you be truly spoilt!

State Cross Country

This year School Sports WA have scheduled State Cross Country in Perth, for Wednesday 28 May, with nominations closing on Friday 16 May.

In the past the date of this event has been after both the St Brigid's School Cross Country and the Interschool Cross Country. Usually, the school nominates and registers students to attend the State Cross Country based on their individual performance at the Interschool Cross Country in Manjimup; (with the responsibility on parents to transport their child to and from the event).

Due to the changes with the order of the events taking place we will not be following this process in 2025. Therefore, should you wish for your child to attend and participate in the State Cross Country, parents will be required to register their own child.

For further information and to register online, please visit the School Sport WA website: Cross Country – SSWA
