A note from Mr Pardini

Dear Families,

Greetings from Year 6 camp central!

Basketball cover - Wow.....what a structure! We are pleased this cover has been completed over the holidays and students are already benefitting from this new addition to our playground. In due course, we look forward to progressing with further improvements, including a resurface of the court floor, lighting and water installation.

Good Standing Policy - A reminder, this policy is now in place. Below is the flyer we handed out last term containing information about this policy which is linked to our Positive Behaviour strategy. You can also locate this page on our school website.

ANZAC - Thank you to Mylah and Charlie (head Students) who represented St Brigid's by laying a wreath at the town service last week. There has been a change to our scheduled school service which will now be held on Tuesday 6 May. Please come along to join us - we look forward to the Year 6 class leading this service at the front of our school.

Mother's Day brekkie - Friday 9 May - Our wonderful staff is once again inviting all our Mums to school for a special breakfast from 7.45am. A coffee van has been organised, so come along to enjoy a gourmet brioche bacon, camembert and spinach roll. The P&F will also be drawing the Mother's Day raffle at this event. See you there!

Kearnan College visit - On Friday 23 May, we look forward to a visit from Kearnan College staff, who will talk with our Year 5/6 students by way of an introduction. As we have done in the past, we encourage any parents (of Year 5/6 students) to attend so you may hear all about what Kearnan College has to offer for your child in the future. You may also like the opportunity to ask some questions. Please join us for this session on Friday 23 May at 9.00am in the school library.

School Uniform - A reminder 'smart play' uniform policy which is now in full swing. Please note, if your child is beginning to feel the cold, they may wear the school tracksuit pants and top. For girls, tights are no longer part of our school uniform, so please ensure you purchase the tracksuit set as we approach the cooler weather. Hats are optional for Terms 2 and 3.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

State Cross Country

This year School Sports WA have scheduled State Cross Country in Perth, for Wednesday 28 May, with nominations closing on Friday 16 May.

In the past the date of this event has been after both the St Brigid's School Cross Country and the Interschool Cross Country. Usually, the school nominates and registers students to attend the State Cross Country based on their individual performance at the Interschool Cross Country in Manjimup; (with the responsibility on parents to transport their child to and from the event).

Due to the changes with the order of the events taking place we will not be following this process in 2025. Therefore, should you wish for your child to attend and participate in the State Cross Country, parents will be required to register their own child.

For further information and to register online, please visit the School Sport WA website: Cross Country – SSWA
