Thursday 3 July 2025 (Week 10)
A note from Mr Pardini
Dear Families,
Emma McGuire - Many of you will have read the letter I posted on Monday regarding the sad passing of one of our former teachers and parents, Mrs Emma McGuire. The offers of support from parents has been heart-warming. St Brigid's has been able to help (in the way we do best!) and offer further support to the McGuire family at this difficult time and so I ask, if you can support one of the events coming up, please spread the word so our outreach as a school community can be felt. We continue to keep Emma and her family in our thoughts and prayers...May she rest in peace!
Lightning Carnival - I am pleased the carnival was able to go ahead last Friday in beautiful weather conditions and that everyone enjoyed the day. Congratulations to all our St Brigid's teams and to Mrs Beesley for her outstanding organisation once again with this event.
Reports - Yesterday, written reports for Pre-Primary to Year 6 were pushed out via the SEQTA Engage app. Please contact the front office if you are having any difficulty accessing these. A huge note of thanks to the teachers who have put many hours into writing these reports.
P&F Quiz night - What a really fun time everyone had at the recent P&F Quiz night. It was a lot of fun being the MC for this night and I enjoyed watching people work through some of the challenges. Thank you for the support from our Year 3 families of this event (for your attendance as well as kind donations!), and in particular to Kristan Banks who was the class coordinator.
Puzzle Club - Next term we will commence a 'Puzzle Club' during a set lunch time. We recently received the puzzle kits and will make a team to participate in the 'Interschool Puzzle Club' which is a state-wide competition. Next term, I will call for nominations for students who are interested. At this stage, Puzzle Club will only be for students from Year 3 - 6 due to the complexities of the puzzles in the competition. Watch this space?
Running Club - Have you seen the post of our 'Parents of St Bs' Facebook page? Thank you to the Chelsea and Anthony Manning who have offered to begin a 'running club' starting next term every Wednesday morning (7.30-8.15am). A light breakfast will conclude each session. If you are interested in coming along to assist Chelsea and Anthony, I know they would welcome your support...so parents please consider helping for a session (where possible) to ensure running club is a success!
Pupil free day - The first day back in Term 3 will be a pupil free day (Monday 21 July). We look forward to welcoming all students back on Tuesday 22 July.
May all families enjoy a safe and restful holiday to recharge and relax.
Carlo Pardini
Principal

McGuire Family Appeal
As we keep the McGuire Family in our prayers and provide support to them during such a difficult time, we invite our families to support these fundraising events if possible. Donations of items or attendance at the events would be appreciated. Please also, extend the invitation to your friends outside of St Brigid's School for the Upmarket & Silent Auction event on Saturday 26 July.
