A note from Mr Pardini

Dear Families,

And just like that...the term has come to an end! Thank you to the wonderful St Brigid's Community for making this term a success. I certainly feel very humble when I look back at all we have achieved this term.

Chrism Mass

Last Thursday, three of our year 6 students; Oliver Doust, Daisy Glancy and Hudson Puljiz attended Chrism Mass in Bunbury along with Mrs Barber and myself. These students will be receiving the sacrament of Confirmation later this year.

Interschool Swimming Carnival

Thank you, Mrs Beesley, for organising a great day of healthy competition at this year's Interschool Swimming carnival. I was so pleased with the effort all children put into the day to make it a true carnival atmosphere. Thank you also to our P&F who gave their time to make morning tea and lunches happen. The results from the carnival can be found below.

Teacher-Parent Meetings

I appreciate an 'early close' is not easy for everyone to manage, but a big thanks to parents for ensuring their children were collected by 12.00pm. I hope this gave all families a chance to catch up with their child's teacher. To the amazing staff who stayed at school into the early evening, thank you for your time for this first mode of reporting. If you have not yet met up with your child's teacher, please feel free to make a time next term.

P&F Movie Night

A massive thank you to our P&F for organising this family event. It was wonderful to see such a large turnout of families at this family event. Once again thank you to Michelle Stayt "PR extraordinaire" for the movie night along with the P&F committee and Year 5 families who worked to pull together this evening for all to enjoy.

Three Year Old 'Little Sprouts'

It was great to meet the youngest members of our school at yesterday's parent meeting. A reminder to all families, Little Sprouts commences on Wednesday 17 April. Thank you to everyone who attended, and we look forward to next term when we welcome your children to St Brigid's for the first time.

Stations of the Cross

Thank you to Mrs Pettersen and the Year 5 class for allowing us the time to reflect this morning through the Stations of the Cross. It was a beautiful way to enter Holy Week and reflect on the true meaning of Easter through the life of Jesus.

Caratis Fundraising

This year our Project Compassion (money box) appeal with Caritas has hit some new heights! All money raised for Caritias helps to alleviate poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity in the most vulnerable and marginalised communities in the world.

We have raised a total of $1,646.60

  • $1102.35 from classroom 'moneybox' fundraising - (the Year 5 class raised the most - $273.45)
  • $544.25 from the Student Council Easter Raffle

Thank you for the generosity of families donating Easter chocolates for the prizes, which ensured we had plenty of prizes.

School Uniform Update

This week I posted a letter via Szapp regarding our school uniform. If you have not had the chance to read this letter, you can find it below by clicking the link. I would like to draw everyone's attention to the fact that next term we are offering a choice for both boys and girls.

We have done this for the simple reason that most families have asked for support with the uniform to make it more comfortable, practical and more affordable. In our efforts to listen to your requests, we are allowing a choice for the remainder of this year, so that families may not need to necessarily purchase new stocks of the formal winter uniform in preparation for 2025, where the sports uniform will become compulsory for the entire week (over all five days). For more information about the choice we are offering next term, click the link in the 'School Uniform Update' section.

Pupil Free Day

A reminder our term commences on Tuesday 16 April as the first day of this week (Monday 15 April) is a pupil free day.

I wish everyone the peace of Easter and a well-deserved holiday. Travel safe everyone and I look forward to seeing you all once again on Tuesday 16 April.

Swimming Carnival Results

Last Friday we hosted the Y3-6 Interschool Swimming Carnival. This year, Bridgetown Primary School joined with St Brigid's and St Mary's Boyup Brook. The feedback we had from both schools and parents was overwhelmingly positive, so thank you to Mrs Donna Beesley for all your hard work in organising this event. Also, to our wonderful students who participated with such a positive attitude and cheered on your friends ... and the winning school was St Brigid's!
