Friday 29 November 2024 (Week 8)
A note from Mr Pardini
Dear Families,
Year 6 Graduation- Wednesday was a massive day for our Year 6 class. The day commenced with a beautiful Mass to celebrate with 'thanksgiving' all that this awesome group of students has given to our school over the years. At the Mass, the children were handed their Graduation packs which included a class photo and Graduation certificate. Thank you, Mrs Barber, for coordinating this celebration.
The day concluded with Graduation dinner at the football club. What a team effort to make this happen. A huge thanks to Keryn Jansen for decorating the hall (the photo wall was a real hit!), Liz Oliver for catering another sensational meal which fed the hungry hoards, Mrs Humby for running the bar and Mr Ternent for tying it all together and making us all laugh with his anecdotes.
It was a great day to share with the whole community just how special this group of students is to St Brigid's. We wish them every happiness and success in High School.
Carols on the oval - The invite has been posted, and now all we need to do is pray for fine weather! Please join us for our end of year concert on the oval this Tuesday 3 December. The evening will commence at 6.00pm, with the plan to have all families on their way home by 7.30pm at the latest (with hopefully a small glimpse of light remaining). So, pack your rugs, chairs and snacks for a fun night of celebration.
A reminder for this event, all children are to remain seated with their families for the duration of the show which includes older teenage siblings. Anyone playing on the basketball court, playground or oval will be asked to be seated. This is a family concert and therefore I respectfully ask all families to remain seated together.
Annual Community Meeting (ACM) - Thank you to those families who attended our Annual Community Meeting on Tuesday night. At this meeting, we had a chance to farewell two of our committee members. Thank you, Simone Bruce, for your work as our School Advisory Chair and Nathan Milne as (P&F Treasurer). We appreciate the time you both gave to these committees. We also received a new nomination from Bree Payton-Teale onto our P&F. Welcome Bree! At this stage, specific roles for both committees will be worked out at our first meeting, but I look forward with anticipation about the new year with these groups.
Have a wonderful weekend...only 7 more sleeps until holidays!
